- Our R&D engineers and scientists develop breakthrough technologies that change the way the world works, and industries do business. We are looking for candidates for the position of R&D Scientist to perform research in the field of battery technology. The specific areas may include electrochemistry, electrode materials, electrolyte, battery manufacturing or battery aging modeling. You will be part of the Hitachi Energy Research team to develop cutting edge material technologies for power transmission and distribution products to realize the vision of a “net zero” world. - You will work on new energy related material topics, such as batteries, green hydrogen, fuel cell, CCUS, etc. - You will identify new ideas, initiate research projects and ensure relevant IP protection. - You will execute research projects as project leader or key project member. - You will work with colleagues in Hitachi Energy Research China and global and collaborate and support all business units. - Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business. - A PhD or MSc in electrochemistry or battery. - Experience in one of the following areas is a strong plus: numerical modeling, data-driven material study, machine learning, green hydrogen. - Excellent innovation capability and competence of application-oriented research. - Capable to run projects independently with excellent project planning, execution, and management. - Outstanding communication skills, task ownership, and analytical capabilities. - Fluent spoken and written English as working language.
